There was a bad storm in our city last night. a lot of rain fell in a very short time, and the wind blew very hard. I went outdoors so that I could watch the storm. The wind broke some windows of our house and it blew one of our trees over. The tree fell into the street and stopped the traffic for a long time. I was afraid during the storm. The blue whale is the largest living animal to have ever lived on the planet Earth. Blue whales are way larger than the largest dinosaur that ever lived. The largest blue whales can grow as large as 100 feet long, which is longer than three school buses put together! Even though blue whales are huge, the eat tiny creatures known as krill. Krill are tiny shrimp-like animals. The whale simply open its mouth, fills it with krill and salt water, and filters the water out of plates in its mouth called baleen. The blue whale may eat over 8000 pounds of krill in a single day.

The Lion and The Rabbits ( Audio File)
A cruel lion lived in the forest. Every day, he killed and ate a lot of animals. The other animals were afraid the lion would kill them all.
The animals told the lion, “Let’s make a deal. If you promise to eat only one animal each day, then one of us will come to you every day. Then you don’t have to hunt and kill us.”
The plan sounded well thought-out to the lion, so he agreed, but he also said, “ If you don’t come every day, I promise to kill all of you the next day!”
Each day after that, one animal went to the lion so that the lion could eat it. Then, all the other animals were safe.
Finally, it was the rabbit’s tu to go to the lion. The rabbit went very slowly that day, so the lion was angry when the rabbit finally arrived. The lion angrily asked the rabbit, “Why are you late?”

Today there is a television set in almost every house. In some countries, you can choose between as many as forty different chaels; some show only a single type of program - news, sports, music, theater or movies; most show different kinds of programs, giving the viewer a lot of choices to choose from. In one country, a recent research showed that the average person spent three and a half hours a day watching television. Housewives were the biggest group of viewers. They spent an average of about five hours a day watching TV while their husbands were out at work.
For families with children, a big problem is getting the children away from the television to do their homework. Then what is the effect of television on people’s lives?
To find out, an unusual experiment was done recently. A group of forty four families were asked not to watch TV for one month.The families were studied to see how their lives would change by not watching TV during this period.

The Dragon (Audio File)
An evil dragon lived in a castle in the remote southe mountains. One day the monster landed in a town. The dragon commanded the people, “Give me food now, or I will eat you!” The dragon lifted its wings so that its lungs could be completely filled with hot steam, and breathed it upon the people. A man tued into a stone statue ! The people submitted and brought food. The dragon ate all of it and left. The people sent a boy to ask for help from a wise old man. He resided in a temple.
The boy told the old man about the dragon. Then, the old man counseled the boy. “A meteor will fall in the northe sky. It will make a huge explosion. Find the meteor and bring it to me. I will use it to make a sword for you.” The boy did as the old man said.
